Turkey Time

Who's gonna run the Turkey Trot??? It really is a fun race. It's cheap registration as far as races go and what better way to not feel guilty as you are stuffing your face on Thanksgiving! You can register on active.com. The link is on the upcoming events list on the left.

Please respond to this post if you are going to run!

Hydration

Okay all you runners! Now that you've started training for Ragnar (right?) you will begin to run for longer distances. One thing you are going to need if you don't have one already is some sort of pack that can hold water. You will probably want to wear one during the Relay too. I have one I really love from FuelBelt. Here is what it looks like: http://www.runjunk.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=357 I think you can even get one on ebay for cheaper. Anyway, what's right for me may not be right for you so shop around. The key is to not get dehydrated!

Need a replacement

Okay, we had one person drop out of Ragnar. We need to find another one. Also, we will be having a meeting the second week of October. Probably a Thursday.

We have a winner

The "Sole" Sistas have it! Although, I registered us as Sistas before I saw the comments about wanting to be sisters instead. I will see if they will let us change it.

Name Please?

Ok- we need to come up with a funny/clever team name for our running relay team of 12 women. Any ideas? Keep it clean people!

Extreme Running

9/25/07- We picked the wrong day to run up south mountain! We didn't mind the POURING rain, it was the huge lightning storm right over our heads that we had a problem with. We were about 5 miles in to it when lightning crashed right over our heads and we decided it probably wasn't a good idea to run to the top of a mountain for obvious reasons. We made it down safely but not without getting soaked to the bone. The park ranger came up to us and said we were a tough group of women.
